Comadre a Comadre is a community-based intervention program addressing breast cancer disparities in New Mexico through education, navigation, the provision of support and resources for the most vulnerable women in NM who need low-cost or free mammograms, diagnostic evaluation and treatment for breast cancer.
In support of UNM’s Comadre a Comadre program, artist, author and speaker Simón Silva created an original artwork titled “Amor” for UNM’s Comadre a Comadre program. Silva donated the painting with the intent of having it raffled with all proceeds going to support the program’s activities.

"This month of love, and on Valentine's Day don't forget to show your 'Amor' to all our warrior women who fought and are fighting breast cancer," said Elba Saavedra Ferrer, Comadre a Comadre program director.
Raffle tickets for a chance to own the original artwork are available for $25. Additionally, a limited number of signed prints are available for purchase for $300.
"By purchasing a ticket to 'Amor' you can help women obtain our gasoline and Visa gift cards which we distribute to women who are undergoing treatment," Saavedra Ferrer said. "One raffle ticket of $25 is one gift card that can be distributed to a woman in need."
