The UNM STEM-H Center for Outreach, Research and Education is recruiting research scientists and engineers as judges for the 2014 Southwest Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. The contest is for 9th through 12th graders from New Mexico and Southwest Texas.
The students will present their projects in front of panels of judges and an audience on Sat., March 1. They will be judged on how well they state and identify the research problem, on their process skills, on creativity and understanding of the relationship of the project to existing work, on their research and engineering design and procedures and on their discussion and conclusions. They will also be judged on their skill in communicating their research results and on their acknowledgement of sources and major assistance they have received.
