The University of New Mexico’s Center for Regional Studies (CRS) has announced the availability of a new post-doctoral research fellowship that is designed to help students who are close to graduating with their Ph.D. degrees.

The stipend is $48,000 for a 12-month appointment. An additional $2,000 is provided for research, travel, and related expenses.

CRS will provide office space and a faculty mentor to work with on research.

Qualifications include: 

  • Ph.D. completed prior to the start date of July 1
  • Area of study in an academic discipline aligned with the CRS mission
  • Promise for original scholarship in an area associated with the CRS mission

The CRS is a multidisciplinary outreach center designed to enhance the work of the university through student fellowships, research, program funding, visiting scholars, digital media, and other projects with a particular emphasis on activities that increase the understanding of New Mexico, the Southwest, Indigenous communities, the U.S. Mexico Borderlands, and the Americas. The CRS facilitates the production, presentation, and distribution of books, films, lectures, recording and photo collections.
