Report from Santa Fe welcomes Dora Calott Wang, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, UNM School of Medicine and author of "The Kitchen Shrink: A Psychiatrist's Reflections on Healing in a Changing World," Friday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 p.m. (Note: there will be no Sunday repeat this week)

In her memoir, Wang reports a decades-long mission to discover or, rather, rediscover the profession to which she once aspired and that is currently becoming more and more obscured by the burgeoning so-called health-care industry. Her personal story dovetails with an account of a medical profession floundering under an ever-increasing avalanche of paperwork driven by, and a consequence of, the profit motive.
Hosted by veteran journalist and interviewer, Lorene Mills, Report from Santa Fe brings the best controversial, famous and emergent minds and voices of the day to a weekly audience that spans the state of NM and has served as a window on what makes Santa Fe and the state of NM truly unique.
