The University of New Mexico School of Engineering takes part in a free-admission event geared toward children at Explora Science Center on Friday, Aug. 8 from 8 to 10 a.m.

The School of Engineering present hands-on activities about nanotechnology at Explora, located at 1701 Mountain Road NW, Albuquerque.

The activities are targeted toward elementary school-age children, but can be educational for those of all ages. Children will be able to learn about nanoscale science through projects that explore how nanotechnology is used and applied in everyday life.

The event is organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is also participating in the event with an activity on photovoltaics.

The event is part of radio station 100.3 The Peak’s Free Summer Roadshows promotion in which the morning crew broadcasts live from family-oriented educational and entertaining locations around the city.
