The University of New Mexico School of Law sponsors this year's "Constitution Day" celebration Friday, Sept. 17, from 12 - 1 p.m.  in Ballroom B of the Student Union Building.

In "Immigration: a State or Federal Responsibility," Professor Gabriel Chin from the University of Arizona Law School will discuss the recently passed Arizona immigration law SB 1070 and look at the constitutional questions around it.

Constitution Day is recognized on Sept. 17, the anniversary of the day the United States Constitution was signed.  Congress established it in 2004, mandating that all publicly funded schools must provide an educational event focused on the history of the Constitution.

This event is free and open to the public, free pizza and copies of the U.S. Constitution will be given to the first 200 people attending.
