University of New Mexico Provost Craig White announced the appointment of Richard Schuetz as interim director of UNM Press effective July 26, 2017.
“I am very pleased that Richard has agreed to take on oversight of the UNM Press in this important time of transition. In discussions with him, it is clear he will be a great partner in assisting us with developing the on-going business model for the Press. Having an interim leader with Richard’s knowledge is incredibly important,” said White.
Schuetz has served as associate director for Business Operations for 15 years and is responsible for its day-to-day operations, including business, customer service, shipping and receiving and information technology. He oversees development and execution of the Press’s annual budget, financial analysis and reporting; warehousing, order fulfillment and inventory management; and networking, system administration and database management.
Schuetz came to the Press following a 30 year Air Force career where he served in a number of responsible financial management positions at installation, major command and defense agency-level as well as the Pentagon. A native of Texas, Schuetz earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baylor University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
