The UNM College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences (ULLS) is looking for proposals on a new piece of art that will honor student employees.
Every year the ULLS employs more than 100 students who work in a wide range of jobs and departments. Many of them will work for the College for their entire undergraduate career. This vital part of the college staff makes it possible for library buildings to stay open extended hours as well as bring their skills to every department from office assistance to helping maintain computers.
The ULLS has hosted many events to honor student employees over the years but would like to develop a more permanent and visible recognition. It is now issuing a call for proposals for a permanent art piece to commemorate student employeegraduates of the College has been issued. Funding for student employee recognition programs in the ULLS has been generously provided by long-time supporters Jim and Mary Lois Hulsman.
The art piece will include student names and graduation dates and will be constructed such that it can be easily updated annually with a list of new student graduates. Examples on campus include Rhodes Scholar and Student Athletes GPA displays in the student Union Atrium.
