The University of New Mexico Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) offers free flu shots for anyone 18 years old or older in the SUB Atrium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 2, 3, 9 and 10.

SHAC’s “Take One for Raymond” flu shots are dedicated to the memory of Raymond Plotkin, who was a student at UNM. He passed away from the H1N1 virus in 2009. His parents established the initiative and scholarship program to encourage people to get their flu shots.

The Raymond E. Plotkin Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen in the UNM School of Engineering with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. This scholarship was created by Plotkin’s parents, extended family, friends and fellow peers to honor his life, his positive relationship with UNM and his interest in pursuing a career related to Nuclear Engineering.
For information about flu shots, call the SHAC Immunization Clinic at (505) 277-7925.
