Nicholas Edwardson, professor of health administration in the UNM School of Public Administration, is bringing global attention to the program. He’s serving as the 2022 Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Chair for the Health Care Management (HCM) Division of the Academy of Management.

The Academy of Management is the leading professional association for management scholars worldwide, with close to 18,000 members in more than 100 nations.

“This provides great exposure for the UNM School of Public Administration (SPA) and, in particular, our health administration program,” said UNM SPA Director Patria de Lancer Julnes. “It is directly in line with our plan to bring more national and international attention to the school. Nick brings a dynamic energy and depth of experience to our classrooms that we are excited to share with the world.”

As PDW Chair, Edwardson will provide intellectual leadership and administrative know-how. He is responsible for developing the DIG PDW program that will be part of the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, which is being held in Seattle, Washington, Aug. 5-9, 2022. The theme for this meeting is “Creating A Better World Together.”

“In this leadership role, Professor Edwardson is responsible for creating the PDW Call for Submissions and is the primary contact for all submitters involved with the HCM PDW program…ultimately, he organizes and coordinates the entire PDW program for the HCM Division,” explained Sharon Alvarez, vice president of the Academy of Management. “I am completely confident that he will do an outstanding job.”
