UNM’s School of Public Administration (SPA) is making sure to honor success at all levels.
SPA is hosting the 2023 Annual Arthur A. Blumenfeld VIP Networking Reception Fundraiser & Endowed Lecture Dinner on Monday, Oct. 16.
This event is to commemorate Arthur A. Blumenfeld, former National President of the Government Finance Officers Association and former Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Albuquerque, and his invaluable contributions to public service.
“Arthur was a model of dedication, striving to advance best practices in public finance. The primary mission of the Blumenfeld Lecture Series is to foster a culture of excellence in governance,” SPA Director Patria de Lancer Julnes said.
This annual dinner and fundraising event is open to all for networking and for the bestowing of the Blumenfeld Award. That honor will go to New Mexico Speaker of the House Javier Martinez, who will also deliver a keynote speech.
“Speaker Martinez works tirelessly to promote government transparency, early childhood education, equitable tax reform, and renewable energy,” Lancer Julnes said. “It is our distinct honor to recognize the
excellent work in public service of Speaker Javier Martinez with this year’s Arthur A. Blumenfeld Award.”
The celebration will start at Travelstead Hall for networking from 6 to 7 p.m. The dinner and lecture will take place in Ballroom A & B at the Student Union Building (SUB) from 7 to 9 p.m.
Registration for the Oct. 16 event is open now. All proceeds from the event will support the Blumenfeld Endowment and Students in SPA’s Public Service & Leadership Programs.
