Did you know that the Division of Student Affairs at the University of New Mexico is one of the largest divisions on campus and home to 25 of the University’s programs and services? As the primary student services provider for UNM’s large and diverse population, the Division provides support services for students from all backgrounds including first generation and non-traditional.
On Thursday and Friday, March 3-4, from 9 to 11 a.m. or 2 to 4 p.m. 20 of Student Affairs’ departments and programs will be opening their doors to the UNM community to showcase what they do. Click here for a detailed schedule of departments and times.
“While our departments are always open to students and staff, the open houses will serve as an excellent way to get a more comprehensive look at what each department does,” Dr. Eliseo “Cheo” Torres, vice president for UNM Student Affairs said “Each department will have someone on hand during their scheduled times to answer specific questions, provide informational brochures, and some will be offering refreshments, tours, and prizes.”
The mission and goals of the Division are to provide access, support and encouragement to all students in pursuit of academic excellence in the University’s diverse community. The Division focuses on four core values including: academic success through recruitment, retention and graduation, and career development; leadership through accountability, opportunity and sustainability; community through civility, health and safety, and respect; and excellence through diversity, equity and integrity.
