The Parent Association Breakfast and Social, part of UNM's Family Weekend Sept. 16-18, is set for Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the Student Union Building, Ballroom C. This year's keynote speaker is UNM Student Regent Jacob Wellman.
Wellman is an undergraduate student studying Political Science and Sustainability Studies. He has led conservation service projects around the nation, for which he was recognized with the President's Call to Service Award by President George W. Bush. He has interned in the New Mexico State Legislature, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the policy think-tank Think New Mexico.
UNM Family Weekend continues with informational workshops on scholarships, financial aid and career and internship opportunities. Representatives from the Financial Aid office and the Bursar's office will be on hand to answer questions from 10:35 – 11:00 a.m. in the Student Union Building, Fiesta rooms A&B.;
From 11 – 11:25 a.m. in the Student Union Building, Mirage/Thunderbird room, Jenna Crabb from Career Services will offer information on how parents can help their student prepare for internships and future careers.
