The Physical Plant Department (PPD) hosts its summer building coordinator meeting Wednesday, July 9 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the Domenici Education Auditorium. These meetings are designed to educate staff on a variety of facilities topics.

PPD began hosting these semester meetings last year and has consistently had over 100 building coordinators in attendance. The University has over 400 buildings and PPD’s goal is to capture more representation from each building on campus. 

Building coordinators are tasked with many responsibilities, such as recognizing safety hazards in their buildings and reporting them appropriately, inform building occupants of who to call when problems arise, distributing important building information to occupants, and being the point-of-contact for facilities personnel. 

In July’s meeting, topics will include energy savings programs on campus, the new Project Intake process effective across campus July 1, 2014, and Custodial Services will discuss levels of service and the operational side of this PPD division.

The Physical Plant Department is excited and motivated to engage this community and provide the needed resources to aid in the success of the UNM campus.
