The University of New Mexico has a long-standing tradition of honoring and celebrating its Veterans, military service members, and their families. This November, two days before the observed date, the University will host a Veterans Day Celebration and Remembrance.

On Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. the Veterans Alumni Chapter and Veterans Resource Center, along with the Navy, Army, and Air Force ROTC units, will host a Veterans Day celebration in the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel with a reception following in the Alumni Chapel Garden. 

President Stokes will offer opening remarks at the celebration followed by a recognition of fallen UNM service members as well as reflections on Veterans Day from various community members. Regent Bradley C. Hosmer will offer closing remarks and the ceremony will end with a salute to the armed forces performed by the UNM Concert Choir. 

The Lobo Veteran community is also invited to Heroes Night on Friday, Nov. 16 at Dreamstyle Stadium. The UNM Alumni Veterans Chapter is hosting a tailgate with free pizza and drinks in the Dreamstyle north lot. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Discount tickets of $11 are available to Veterans.
