The UNM Prevention Research Center's Book Discussion feature's Rebecca Skloot's "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." The event will be held Tuesday, June 5 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Research Incubator Building (RIB) Commons at the UNM Prevention Research Center.

The book traces the history of the Lacks family and HeLa cells, which were taken (without permission) in 1951 from Henrietta Lacks, a poor African-American woman, and became one of the most important scientific tools/discoveries of the 20th century.
