The University of New Mexico Press recently welcomed three new staff members in the Marketing and Sales department and the Editorial, Design and Production department.

In June, the Press hired Bryce Emley as marketing associate. He is the poetry editor of Raleigh Review and holds a BA in creative writing from the University of Central Florida and a master’s in fine arts in poetry from North Carolina State University. Prior to joining UNM Press, Emley was a composition instructor and a freelance writer and editor. He also interned for the University of North Carolina Press. Emley now coordinates author events, manages exhibits and assists with Press marketing campaigns.

Adelia Humme joined the Press as publicist in July. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University—where she interned for Texas A&M University Press—and a master’s in publishing and writing from Emerson College in Boston. Humme has also interned at Da Capo Press, the MIT Press and Harvard Business Review. In her new publicity role, Humme oversees media relations, book award submissions and social media.

The Press’s most recent hire is Alexandra Hoff, who began her work as senior editor at the beginning of this month. She holds a bachelor’s in English/professional writing and African American studies from Purdue University and has previously worked with Purdue University Press and the West Lafayette History and Research Center in West Lafayette, Indiana. At UNM Press, Hoff provides a wide range of editorial support critical to the book-production process.

“Next year the Press celebrates our ninetieth anniversary. Bryce, Adelia and Alexandra are most welcome additions to our marketing and production efforts,” UNM Press director Stephen Hull said. “Each of them brings long experience, high energy and sound publishing judgement to the enterprise and helps position the Press as we move forward in our next ninety years as New Mexico’s premier publisher.”

Emley, Humme and Hoff look forward to working with authors and community partners to further the work of UNM Press, which publishes about sixty titles a year.
