The University of New Mexico's Administrative Support Alliance and the Division of Human Resources Employee and Organizational Development are hosting the UNM Administrative Support Professional Conference Thursday, Oct. 13 from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union building. The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, Sept. 23. The fee is $50, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. UNM employees may use tuition remission.
The conference objective is to provide opportunity for support personnel to engage in professional development, acquire tips from executive level colleagues and network with other administrative professionals.
Former Congresswoman Heather Wilson is the morning keynote speaker and will present a talk titled, "Leading: Lessons Learned Along the Way," from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. and former UNM Vice President for Business and Finance Julie Weaks Gutierrez will be the featured lunch speaker and will discuss, "Balancing My Walk on a Career Tightrope," from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. UNM President David J. Schmidly will give a welcome at 8:40 a.m.
Breakout sessions will also be held in the morning from 10 to 11 a.m., and in the afternoon from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. A variety of topics are available.
