Debra Terry, former student of Carmelo De Los Santos in UNM’s Master's of Music program will play the electric violin as the featured soloist in two upcoming Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra performances this weekend. The fall concert, titled Expressions of American Optimism, will be held at St. Therese Church on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. and at Immanuel Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m.

APO music director David Felberg will conduct both performances, which will include John Adams’ transcendent concerto, The Dharma at Big Sur and New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak.

APO is a community orchestra performing for the benefit of the greater Albuquerque region, that includes many university affiliates including faculty, staff and students.

All concerts are free of charge. Donations to support the operations of the orchestra are greatly appreciated. All venues are handicap accessible.
