The UNM Alumni Association is inviting graduates from the Class of 1968 to the Golden Graduates and Heritage Club Weekend—with activities on Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12.

Alums will join fellow Lobos, friends and classmates in celebrating the Golden Graduates of 1967 and Heritage Club members, alumni who have graduated 50 or more years ago, for two days of fun events, including participating in UNM’s Spring 2018 commencement. This is an opportunity to reconnect with friends and rediscovering Lobo pride.

Friday, May 11 at Hodgin Hall Alumni Center:

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Open house and robe fitting
  • 10 to 11 a.m.: Campus walking tour

Saturday, May 12 at Dreamstyle Arena:

  • 8:15 a.m.: Arrive to participate in the UNM Spring 2018 commencement ceremony
     

Golden Grads are asked to visit the Alumni website to complete a simple questionnaire to help build the Class of 1968’s Class Notes.

The UNM Alumni Association has also reserved special room rates for Golden Grads and Heritage Club members traveling to Albuquerque for the weekend’s festivities. Booking details and rates can also be found on the Alumni website.

Friday’s festivities are designed to reignite Lobo spirit as Golden Grads are invited to Hodgin Hall Alumni Center, located on UNM’s main campus, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enjoy coffee, tea and treats while being fitted for golden robe and mortarboard for Saturday’s commencement ceremony.

While waiting to receive a robe, alums are encouraged to explore Hodgin Hall Alumni Center, browse through yearbooks and take photos. The campus walking tour starting at 10 a.m. at The U in front of Hodgin Hall.

On Saturday, kick off the 2018 UNM Commencement with a Golden Graduate procession. Then enjoy the rest of the commencement ceremonies in your place of honor — right in front of the stage, inspiring the next generation of UMN graduates. Participants will also witness the installation of UNM’s 23rd and first female president, Dr. Garnett S. Stokes.
