With the deluge of fires and floods over the hot summer months, many New Mexican families were displaced and still need assistance. This year, as part of its Homecoming activities, the UNM Alumni Association's Community Service Project will gather much-needed items for the American Red Cross in an effort called, "Fill A U-Haul for Fire Victims." The UNM Alumni Association will set up donation locations on three UNM campuses over the course of Homecoming week. Everyone who donates an item will receive a special UNM alumni gift.

The Alumni Association is asking the UNM community, including alumni, faculty, staff and students, to donate paper goods including: toilet paper, tissue, paper towels, canned foods, non-perishable foods and toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and toothpaste on any of the following days at these locations:

Tuesday, Sept. 20 – UNM Children's Campus Parking Lot
Times: 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and 4–6 p.m.
