The UNM Art Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary by hosting an opening reception on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6 - 8 p.m. Three concurrent exhibitions, representing the museum's permanet collection of more than 30,000 works of art spanning the 15th century to the present will be opened. All three exhibitions will be on view from Friday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Dec. 14.
Featured in the main gallery is, "From Raymond Jonson to Kiki Smith: The UNM Art Museum's Permanent Collection at Fifty Years," while in the west gallery is, "Andy Warhol's Snapshots and Takes: Selections from the UNM Art Museum's Andy Warhol Foundation Photographic Legacy Program Gift," and in the Van Deren Coke Gallery, "From Rembrandt to Pollock to Atget: Celebrating a Collection."
The UNM Art Museum is located in the Center for the Arts on the UNM main campus. Hours are tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5. Paid parking is available in the Cornell Parking Structure, accessible from Central and Stanford NE.
