The University of New Mexico Art Museum hosts an "Evening for Educators: A Focus on Humanities" Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the main gallery of the museum located in the Center for the Arts building, main campus.
Sara Otto-Diniz, curator of Academic Initiatives and interim director of the UNM Art Museum, invites educators to preview the exhibition "Re-Imagining American Identities" and to learn how historic and contemporary American photography can support social studies and language arts curricula. Gallery activities, vocabulary and lesson plans for the exhibition will be available.
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends 1 - 4 p.m. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5. Paid parking is available in the Visitor's Parking structure at Central and Stanford.
