The University of New Mexico Black Alumni Chapter has announced the recipients of its 2016 Living Legends and Trailblazer Awards. The recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony on Friday, Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Centennial Engineering Auditorium located on UNM’s main campus. The Black Alumni Chapter will proudly present the Honorable Tommy E. Jewell III (‘79) with the Living Legends Award during the ceremony. The Living Legends Award celebrates UNM alums who have made a lasting and significant impact on the University and the community.
The Black Alumni Chapter will also present the Trailblazer Awards to attorney Raymond Hamilton (‘72) and UNM alumni who have previously been inducted into the UNM Athletics Hall of Honor, the Albuquerque Sports Hall of Fame or the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame:
