UNM Bookstores kickoff fall season with new promotions on Lobowear and Spirit Gear

Game Day Fridays were great. For years, every Friday during game season, patrons could save 25 percent off all of your Lobowear and Spirit Gear purchases at the UNM Bookstores three locations at the Main Bookstore, the Medical Legal Bookstore, and The Lobo Den at Wise Pies Arenas. Back when there were games every Saturday, this made sense, but now the  UNM Bookstores are looking to offer more exceptional deals throughout the month.

Let’s get this party started
The UNM Bookstores first major sale will be the "Kickoff Sale," which will run Aug. 29 through Sept. 2 and will offer 30 percent off all imprinted Lobowear and Spirit Gear, as well as imprinted supplies, all week long at all three locations. UNM's first home football game is on Thursday, Sept. 1. The UNM Bookstore wants to give great savings to Lobo fans that entire week, not just on one day. Athletics has switched up their schedules, so the UNM Bookstore is switching theirs also.

"We know this will take some getting used to, but we feel it is going to offer more to our customers overall during the athletics season," said Lisa Walden, Marketing and Retail Division manager at the UNM Bookstore. "In addition to that first major sale, the UNM Bookstores will be having sales on specific items at deeper discounts during Game Weeks, as well as some huge door-buster Flash Sales all throughout the season.

"We will market our sales directly to faculty and staff, but the best way to see what’s going on is to check our website, bookstores.unm.edu, and our Facebook page often. We will continue featuring a major sale at least once a month to coincide with Homecoming, Lobo Howl, holidays, etc., again at larger discounts than we were able to offer during Game Day Fridays."

The UNM Bookstores have great new selections of Lobowear at all of our locations, and the main store is now featuring a women’s boutique, where you can pick up something dressy for the office, or some stylish leisure wear for game days. As always, the UNM Bookstores support the WEAR LOBOWEAR on Fridays initiative that UNM President Robert Frank endorses, so shop at the UNM Bookstores and the LoboDen to be sure you are ready to show your Lobo Spirit.

"We realize Game Day Friday was an institution, but with more dynamic sales and deeper discounts spread throughout the month, we feel sure you can score some major savings and show your support for our Lobos," Walden said. "We hope to see everyone during the Kickoff Sale! Again, all locations of the UNM Bookstores will have all Lobowear, Spirit items and imprinted Supplies at 30 percent OFF during the whole week, so get your gear on before the season starts."
