The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree, co-sponsored by ASUNM Community Experience and the UNM Student Union Building, benefits underprivileged families and children of New Mexico.

During the month of December, the University of New Mexico students and staff come together to celebrate the spirit of giving. This year’s campus-wide giving initiatives include:

The Giving Tree
Giving Trees are located in both the UNM Bookstore and Student Union Building. Staff and students are welcome to take a tag off of the tree and donate the item listed on the tag to a child or family in need. All donations should be unwrapped and delivered to the ASUNM office located in the SUB lower level, room 1016 by Friday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. For more information contact ASUNM Community Experience at (505) 277-0106.

Book Drive
Bring an unwrapped children’s book to the Hanging of the Greens, Friday, Dec. 6, where it will be placed underneath the Christmas tree at Hodgin Hall. Books will be donated to the UNM Children’s Hospital. For more information, visit: Hanging of the Greens.

Student Affairs Holiday Drive
The goal for CLNKids is to make sure homeless children and their families never become homeless again. In addition to helping families with their immediate needs – getting a roof over their heads and a meal on their table, they also help them develop the skills necessary to get back on their feet and stay there. The Office of Student Affairs seeks a variety of donations including school supplies and toiletries. The drive continues through Dec. 18. For a list of dropoff locations, visit: OSA Holiday Drive.

Hospitality Holiday Stroll
UNM’s Purchasing Department is hosting the Hospitality Holiday Stroll on Tuesday, Dec.10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SUB, Ballroom B. Come out and help the Purchasing Department welcome UNM Travel Portal vendors. Light refreshments will be served and you can enter to win door prizes. In addition, Purchasing will be collecting new, small stuffed animals, toys and warm/fuzzy items for children ages one to 17. The items will be donated to UNMH Children's Hospital. You can bring your unwrapped donations to the Holiday Stroll.

Happy Tails for Homeless Pets
UNM Staff Council is holding the Happy Tails Drive for Homeless Pets through Monday, Dec. 16. Staff Council is asking the UNM community to support Animal Humane this holiday season with donations such as Milk Bones, bath towels and leashes. Read more and view the full wish list at the Staff Council website.

Food and Toiletry Drive
The UNM Women’s Resource Center is collecting toiletries and food. Toiletries will benefit the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners of Albuquerque. Please bring trial/individual sized toiletries. Food donations, which should be non-perishable, benefit The Store House. Collection bins are located at the Women’s Resource Center. For more information call (505) 277-3716.

UNM Hospitals Holiday Bazaar
UNM Hospitals Holiday Bazaar will include a silent auction, day raffle and bake sale. Come by and bid on gift baskets, gift certificates and try your luck on the day raffle items. Proceeds from the Bazaar benefit UNM Hospitals. The Bazaar will be held on the second, third and fourth floor Ambulatory Care Center lobbies at UNM Hospital.
