The UNM Championship Golf Course, consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top collegiate courses, hosts its Inaugural Foundation Tournament on Monday, Oct. 4. The funds raised from this event will support the Foundation’s mission of maintaining and improving the course.
“We are excited to host those who support our course, as well as welcome golfers new to UNM’s Championship Course and raise awareness to the capital needs of the course,” said Adam Roybal, general manager of UNM Golf Courses.
The tournament will be a 4-person scramble with various prizes awarded throughout the field. Adding to the fun, players and guests will also have an opportunity to win raffle prizes during the event - raffle tickets are $5 each, or five for $20, and may be purchased at the UNM Championship Golf Course before or during registration.
The Oct. 4 event check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. and the tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $500 per 4-person team and includes both breakfast and lunch, as well as all greens, cart, and range fees.
The event is limited to 24 teams, so golfers are encouraged to register early. The registration form and brochure can be downloaded here.
“As proud as we are of the course, we are dependent on the stakeholder’s support to help keep it at an elite status. Whether it’s through team registration or sponsorship, participation will help us remain as one of the most recognized public courses in the country,” said Roybal.
A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations and businesses, including the title sponsorship.
The UNM Golf Course Fund was established in 1990 under the umbrella of the UNM Foundation to support special projects at the UNM Championship Golf Course.
