The Office for Equity & Inclusion (OEI) presents Diversity Showcase Week, Monday, March 21 – Friday, March 25, to exhibit the wealth of diverse peoples, cultures, perspectives, talents and research interests that serve as UNM's foundation.
Jozi De Leon, vice president, OEI, said, "We take great pride in the rich diversity that is represented across our campus every day. We are taking time this week to highlight the great value that diversity provides to the University in the classroom and through various activities, forums, and recognitions."
Diversity Showcase Week kicks off with the screening of "A Look Inside SB1070," a documentary released by national civil rights organization, The Center for New Community. A panel discussion follows the film, which is being screened in the Student Union Building Theater at noon. The screening and discussion are free and open to the public.
Diversity Showcase Week culminates with the 2nd Annual Luminaria Awards and Diversity Celebration Dinner, Friday, March 25, at 6 p.m. at Sandia Resort and Casino. Tickets are still available.
