The UNM dorm halls of Laguna, DeVargas and Santa Clara (SCLDV) are holding a virtual seminar on Oct. 20 covering healthy relationships and safe sex practices.

The virtual event will be hosted by the Community Association board for SCLDV. This board is dedicated to bringing people together during the pandemic and hosting weekly activities.

Although the event is hosted by these three halls, all students are welcome to attend.

Topics covered will include Condoms and Contraception, STI’s, Upstander/Listening, LGBTQ+, Abuse/Violence and Consent.

Students will break out into different virtual rooms to listen to a presentation from two members of the Community Association board. The speakers will rotate through each breakout room so everyone will be able to hear each presentation.

A question and discussion session will end each presentation, giving students an opportunity to anonymously ask about anything related to the topic presented.

Each SCLDV Community Association member put time and research into each presentation in order to provide educational, interesting content that will be new and enlightening to students.

This seminar will be held on Zoom on Oct. 20 at 8:30 p.m. The zoom link is 985 9369 6259.

Upcoming events for the SCLDV Community Association are a movie night and a record-painting event. Each event takes place on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. Flyers will be posted around the SCLDV buildings as well as emailed to students living in said dorm halls. Members of the CA board will also be door-knocking before each event.
