Sponsored by the University of New Mexico's Dean of Students Office and the Student Activities Center, the Alternative Spring Break project gives students the opportunity to assist other communities across the nation and make new friends along the way.
Last year, the ASB group helped victims of Hurricane Katrina continue rebuilding neighborhoods through the St. Bernard Project in New Orleans. The 2012 ASB project takes place from March 11-18 and includes possible locations of New Orleans, La. or Portland, Ore.
Applications for the 2012 Alternative Spring Break trip are now available at the Dean of Students Office in Advisement & Enrichment or online at Alternative Spring Break. Applications are due by Wednesday, Dec. 21.
For more information, contact the Dean of Students Office at (505) 277-3361 or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, "Like" the official Alternative Spring Break page on Facebook for updates.
