The UNM Staff Environs Committee will conduct an electronic waste recycling event on Saturday, Nov. 6 as part of Family Weekend activities at the university. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the "A" parking lot near the corner of Stanford and Central NE. All discarded electronic equipment will be accepted, but there will be a $10 charge for television sets and a $5 charge for monitors without computers.
The Staff Environs Committee can accept all computers and computer related equipment such as monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, phones/cell phones, rechargeable batteries, satellite TV equipment, mice/keyboards, stereos and speakers.
Items not accepted include appliances, coffee machines, toaster ovens, bread machines, crock pots, hair dryers, irons, microwave ovens, electric heaters and alkaline batteries.
