The office of Parent and Family Programs invites students and their parents to participate in the eighth annual ‘Family Weekend’ starting Friday-Sunday, Nov. 6-8.
The weekend kicks off on Nov. 6 with ‘Bring your Parent to School Day’ where parents are invited to sit in on a lecture or two at UNM to gain a student’s perspective. On the same day, the Maxwell Museum, UNM Art Museum, and the UNM Bookstore will be open for parents to check out. The day finishes off with ‘Family Weekend Game Night’ in the Hokona Hall Cellar at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, there will be a ‘Family Weekend Tailgate Party’ from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Student Support and Service Center on South Campus. The tailgate will support the lobos as they take on Utah State. The cost for attendance to the tailgate and football game is $25, which includes the cost for the football ticket.
The UNM vs. Utah State football game kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at University Stadium. Parents can receive their Family Weekend Package on the east side of University Stadium near the Student Section. Students will receive free tickets if they have their UNM ID.
Finally, on Nov. 8, Family Weekend closes with ‘Benise: Strings of Passion’ in Popejoy Hall at 3 p.m. This show infuses traditional flamenco with modern rock through music and dancing. Tickets for the event are available from UNM Tickets or at Popejoy Presents.
