New Mexico Centennial Poet Laureate Levi Romero is among notable authors headlining the Four Corners Writer’s Conference, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 2-4 at the University of New Mexico Gallup branch campus.

Joining Romero is poet Jimmy Santiago Baca, fiction author Inez Ross, and poet/fiction author Laura Tohe. The three-day event features readings and workshops by these and other authors and members of the national writing community, including publishers and literary agents. 

Romero kicks off the conference with a reading and reception Thursday on the UNM-Gallup campus. That event is free and open to the public.

Fees for the remainder of the conference, including workshops, meals and an awards banquet, are $185 for the general public, $75 for non-UNM students, and $50 for UNM students. Scholarships for UNM-Gallup students are available. Conference registration opened July 1, 2014.
