Red Mesa Review, an award-winning literary journal produced at the University of New Mexico Gallup branch seeks submissions of poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction for Volume 18. The deadline is Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.
Fiction and creative non-fiction submissions should be no more than 5,000 words. Writers should be current students and alumni of the Gallup, Valencia, Taos or Los Alamos branch campuses or the Albuquerque campus. Contributors should include a description of their connection to UNM in their cover letters.
The editorial board favors work in a Southwestern setting, and encourages the use of Navajo, Tewa and Spanish languages.
Submissions can be sent to The Editorial Board, Red Mesa Review, University of New Mexico at Gallup, 705 Gurley Ave., Gallup, NM 87301; or e-mailed in Word format to firstname.lastname@example.org. For hard copy submissions, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) for return. Paper submissions not used in the journal that arrive without an SASE will be recycled.
