A student at UNM-Gallup was recently crowned the 92nd Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial Queen. Cody Jansen, who was selected from a group of seven candidates, was honored at Red Rock State Park during the final night of Ceremonial festivities. Cody, also named “Miss Photogenic,” showcased both a modern talent and a traditional talent by displaying clothing she hand-made and playing a song on a Native American flute.

As winner of the 2013 Ceremonial Queen contest, Cody will be the beneficiary of the “Future Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship” which was recently created at UNM-Gallup, thanks to the generosity of Little Caesars.  Mark DeWit, director of operations for the parent company Pepperoni Brothers, LLC said, “We would like to fully fund the $2,000.00 this year to make this opportunity a reality for the deserving recipient.”
