Two events for UNM freshmen are set for Thursday, Oct. 21 in the Student Union Building ballrooms. Writing Across Communities (WAC) hosts "Celebration of Student Writing," from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This community engagement event is for more than 700 English 101 and 102 students to visually showcase their class work. The goal is to link students with UNM administrators, faculty, student representatives and the community.

Following the celebration, the UNM Dean of Students office hosts a social event, "Keepin' it Fresh," from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the SUB ballrooms and atrium.  UNM freshmen are invited to attend and enjoy free music, raffle prizes, refreshments and participate in "speed-friending" among other activities. The event provides an opportunity for freshmen to make connections and become involved at the university.
