The University of New Mexico Latin American & Iberian Institute hosts "The Impact of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines on the National Production of Food in Cuba" with speaker Armando Nova on Monday, Oct. 15 at noon.
The presentation looks at the process of economic transformation in Cuba, called the "updating of the economic model." The transformation includes all sectors with implications for the economic, social and political aspects of the country.
Nova is a senior researcher and professor at the Center for the Study of the Cuban Economy at the University of Havana where he has earned both his bachelor and doctorate in economics.
The presentation will be in Spanish with English interpretation. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
