The University of New Mexico is proud to recognize veterans, military service members, and their families every day, and particularly Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a federal U.S. holiday set aside as a time Americans express their gratitude and appreciation for those who have served in the Armed Forces.

On Nov.11, UNM hosts its traditional Veterans Day Celebration and Remembrance at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Chapel Memorial Chapel.

UNM’s Veterans Day Celebration and Remembrance will feature UNM’s President Stokes offering opening remarks, along with a recognition of fallen UNM service members and reflections on the day from community members.

After the celebration and remembrance, a reception will be held in the Alumni Chapter Garden. The ceremony will conclude with the UNM Concert Choir performing a salute to the armed forces.

This year’s celebration will be hosted by the Veteran Alumni Chapter, Veteran & Military Resource Center, and Student Veterans of UNM – along with the Navy, Army and Air Force ROTC units.
