The University of New Mexico Latin American and Iberian Institute (LAII) is offering a trip to Havana, Cuba this February to give others the chance to learn about the rich history and culture the country has to offer. An information session regarding the trip takes place on Monday, Oct. 24 from 6-7 p.m. at the LAII (801 Yale Blvd. NE, Albuquerque).

On the trip, participants will have the opportunity to visit historical sites like Habana Vieja, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest district of Havana. There, they will tour historical buildings and witness examples of Cuba’s historical architecture. Additionally, those who attend the trip will have the opportunity to participate in the Semana de la Cultura Camagueyana cultural festival along with many other fun activities.

A $500 non-refundable deposit for the trip will be due on Oct. 26 along with a completed registration form and a passport copy. Balance and full payment will be due on Dec. 2.
