UNM Launches National Search for Chief of Police

The University of New Mexico is conducting a national search for a new chief of police.  Kathy Guimond, current chief of police is retiring effective June 2014 after 18 years of service.

The UNM Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency with the authority to make arrests on view and under warrant.  All officers in the department are sworn and state certified.  The chief of police oversees and manages the operations of campus police and is responsible for the administration and strategic planning of the department, which provides police services, crime prevention, traffic control and emergency management for students, faculty and staff.
