The University of New Mexico is taking every precaution to help combat the spread of COVID-19, while countless Lobos work hard to responsibly “Bring Back the Pack.” UNM is beginning the fall term with hybrid instruction - a combination of online and in-person classes.

Main Campus Facilities Guide


For additional information regarding facilities, a Main Campus Facilities Guide for open areas and facilities and the safety protocols for each is also available.

Additionally, users are encouraged to check the HR COVID-19 website regularly for updated versions.

As a reminder, certain campus buildings may have limited access due to possible restrictions and secured doors in an effort to direct occupant flow. Look for directional signage.

Accessibility Resource Center
ARC is open by appointment ONLY Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

American Indian Student Services
AISS is open for in-person assistance by appointment ONLY Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Children's Campus
UNM Children's Campus is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Computer Pods & Classrooms

El Centro is open by appointment ONLY to meet with staff each Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, and Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 6 p.m.

Need a LoboCard? Get started from home! Take your own photo using approved photo requirements and upload it through the online portal. You will be notified when your new LoboCard is ready for pickup.

The LoboCard Office is open for in-person services and Lobo ID pickup Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The

Student Health and Counseling
SHAC counseling and medical services are open. Visits are conducted via video or telephone when possible, and in-person when necessary.

Call 505-277-3136 to schedule an appointment. If you are an established patient with a SHAC provider, you can message your provider through your UNM Health Portal to request assistance.

SHAC is NOT a testing site for the coronavirus; however, students who suspect they have COVID-19 or have been exposed should call for guidance regarding testing and evaluation.

Student Support Services – TRIO

Student Union Building 
The SUB is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m with limited access to students, facility, staff and vendors.

University Libraries
UNM University Libraries is re-opening in a limited way, in order to maintain safe and health COVID-19 practices.  

Library buildings will reopen to the UNM Community on Tuesday, Sept. 8. A current Lobo Card will be required to enter. Access to the Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections, is by appointment.

 Parish Library has been permanently closed as of July 1 for the transition to a staff-only library services building.

Zimmerman Library will have ID scanning starting Friday, Oct. 16th. The ID scanner will capture identification of all patrons and employees entering Zimmerman, and eventually Centennial Science and Engineering library.  For vendors, contractors, and CSWR visitors the driver's license will be scanned.  Since we will be scanning all ID's we will use one entry door into Zimmerman - the automatic door entry. There will also be an option for completing the form manually in exceptional cases. Data will not be permanently retained. 

UNM Bookstores
The UNM Bookstore on main campus opened to the public on a limited basis June 1 and has continued to monitor public health guidelines to inform future hours of operation.

Please visit the bookstore website to see the most up to date store hours for the main and Medical/Legal Bookstore locations.

UNM Food
Visit food.unm.edu for a complete list of Food Location options currently available on main campus. All available UNM Food locations are currently offering takeout only. Hours of operation for each venue may vary, so before you head out to grab a bite be sure to check:

La Posada Dining Hall
La Posada Dining Hall will be exclusively available to the resident, meal plan holders of UNM Housing, Casas del Rio, Lobo Village, and Lobo Rainforest until further notice. 

Please remember to refrain from La Posada while you observe the 14 Day Limited Interaction protocols for out of state students. Students observing Limited Interactions may use meal swipes at SRC Market and Union Club.

UNM Golf Courses
The UNM Championship Golf Course and the UNM North Golf Course are open with limited operations, following new guidelines issued by the New Mexico Department of health

University golf courses will be following best practices for golf course operations under the current COVID-19 conditions. Golfers should be aware that not all services will be available and should expect to follow new safety precautions while at our facilities.

UNM Police
The UNM Police Department remains fully staffed and fully operational, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Women's Resource Center
WRC is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for students to access the computer lab and to pick up printing jobs.

WRC and Vassar Advocacy Center (HSC) - Advocacy will be offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment only. Meetings can be virtual or in-person upon request.

Counseling will be offered virtually.
