Phase I construction of the UNM Hospital Tower and Patient Parking Structure, Tucker Avenue between its intersections with University Blvd. and Camino de Salud is now scheduled to be resurfaced and striped the week of Oct. 19, according to UNM Parking & Transportation.
The three-phased temporary roadway closures will occur on Tucker Ave. as scheduled:
- October 19-20: Tucker will be completed closed between University Blvd. and Camino Servicio Rd. (intersection between G Lot and UNM Facilities Management buildings). During this phase of work, vehicles will need to use the G Lot to get to/from North Campus and University Blvd..
- October 21: Eastbound lane closure between Camino Servicio Rd. and Camino de Salud with limited access (flaggers will be present to assist).
- October 22: Westbound land closure between Camino Servicio Rd. and Camino de Salud with limited access (flaggers will be present to assist).
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to follow detour signage and plan ahead to avoid this area if possible. A map indicating the closure and highlighted with phasing information is attached for your reference.
Phase II construction activity for this project is anticipated to start in December 2020. The campus community will be updated periodically regarding any additional changes, utility outages or closures. Motorists should plan for extra time in their commute while this project is in progress and be aware of workers in the area.
