U.S. News and World Report magazine has released Best Graduate School rankings for 2014. The list features a number of UNM specialty programs. In the School of Medicine, UNM's Rural Medicine Program is ranked second in the U.S., Family Medicine is ranked seventh and Primary Care is ranked ninth. These specialty rankings are voted on by senior faculty and deans of schools and colleges throughout the U.S.
The School of Law is ranked 11th in the national in Clinical Training and 64th overall.
In the College of Fine Arts, the photography program is ranked fifth in the nation.
The magazine rates UNM as 100th in a ranking of public universities and 179th in overall national rankings. U.S. News & World Report uses admissions selectivity as an important part of its ranking system. Job placement statistics were used for some rankings and undergraduate reputation was also a factor.
