On Thursday, Oct. 10, UNM President Robert G. Frank, UNM Health Sciences Chancellor Paul Roth and UNM Provost Chaouki Abdallah will host a public health forum, titled "Healthy Dialogue," about establishing a College of Public Health at UNM. The public health forum will be held at UNM's Johnson Center in the South Gym, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The purposes of the public health forum are: 1.) to meet others who are engaged in public health-related education, research and service from across the university; 2.) to learn from our leaders about why they feel having a College of Public Health is important for the university and the state of New Mexico; and 3) to have a dialogue between our leaders, faculty and staff about these issues.
A survey of courses and research showed that there are 256 faculty who are engaged in public health-related activity, suggesting that UNM is already a "public health university."
The public health forum is open and the campus community is invited to attend.
