In addition, the Office of Advising Strategies is offering remote services. Staff advisors are continuing to help students prepare for summer and fall registration during the University’s period of limited operations. All the advising centers are seeing students, while the Office of Advising Strategies continues to support the advising community.

"The advising community quickly moved from advising in-person in their office to advising from a distance," said Laura Valdez, director, Office of Advising Strategies. "Managers are touching base with their staff daily to ensure that advisors still have all the tools needed to advise and support students."

Advisors are offering appointments through Skype, Zoom, phone, or email.  Students can log onto loboachieve.unm.edu to schedule a virtual meeting.

"We don’t realize how much is done from our office and how much we rely on our advising colleagues but being able to give students support at this time shows us how much of a family we truly are in coming together during this stressful time," said Chris Larrañaga, the OILS Program Manager.
