The University of New Mexico Information Technologies Department hosts an award ceremony, for students who designed an “events” app to help users locate upcoming events, in the Student Union Building SUB atrium and ballroom on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first place winner receives $5,000.
The event begins with an open house in the SUB atrium from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. where students can demo the apps submitted by this year’s contestants. Student Consultants will be on hand to help with logistics, while handing out free pizza. The event moves to the SUB ballroom at 1 p.m. for the award’s ceremony to honor the top five winners, with a participant gift awarded to all students who entered the contest.
