The University of New Mexico's Planning, Design and Construction seeks community feedback on proposed site improvements for corner of Central and Girard on UNM's main campus.
The Albuquerque design firm, MRWM Landscape Architects, has proposed three initial design concepts for the Central and Girard area of campus using the principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). The Central and Girard Site Improvement Survey will be available through Friday, April 10.
After the design input is collected from UNM stakeholders, this project will be refined and put through the UNM capital project approval process with the UNM Board of Regents, the Higher Education Department (HED) and the State Board of Finance (SBOF.)
“We are happy to bring forward solutions that make people feel safe when they visit our beautiful campus," said University Architect and PDC Director Amy Coburn. "Because design proposals take on life when our community participates in their development, I invite all to attend this informal event and to provide feedback on the proposed concepts.”
