The UNM campus community is invited to honor the 2023 recipients of the Gerald W. May Outstanding Staff Award in a recognition ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Ballroom B at the Student Union Building. The award recognizes outstanding staff members who have made significant contributions to the University.
Each fall, staff members are nominated by other staff, faculty, and students at the University. The nominees are then reviewed by the Staff Council Rewards and Recognition Committee and the Staff Council Executive Committee. Finally, the president of the University selects the final winners.
This year’s nominees include:

- Anthony Gravagne, Physics & Astronomy
- Ashley Hatcher, School of Medicine. Office for Community Faculty

- Brian Kimura, College of Fine Arts
- Lori Chavez-Morris, Psychology
- Nick Royle, Facilities Management
- Theresa Sherman, Human Resources
- Deborah Trevino, Project ECHO
- Katherine Williams, Employee Organizational Development
The winners are given a monetary award and plaque. Their names will be added to the perpetual plaque that hangs in Scholes Hall.
