Spring Welcome Back Days
Students fill the SUB atrium for spring Welcome Back Days.

The University of New Mexico Student Activities Center kicks off the second leg of Welcome Back Days with “Student Organizations Information Day,” on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building atrium.

UNM has more than 400 student organizations giving students plenty of reasons to get involved on campus. These organizations can help students gain valuable professional, social and community involvement skills. Several will be on hand to answer questions.

"Of course we have the big Welcome Back Days in the fall,” said Celestina Torres, an advisor with the College Enrichment Program, “but Welcome Back Days in the spring give students that chance to reconnect, see familiar faces and talk with advisors, teachers and different departments after their winter break."

Welcome Back Days offer students an opportunity to browse table to table and learn about the many ways they can get involved on campus. Select booths have free items to give away as well, such as wall calendars, bookmarks, pens and more.

Student Nikki Taylor, an Environmental Science major thinks Welcome Days are cool. “I've met with a lot of different sororities so far and learned a lot about them.” And Matthew Torres, a junior majoring in Sociology said, "Welcome Back Days are good for people who aren't from here and don't have reliable sources or family to go to with questions."

Free Pepsi products will be offered each day until they last.

Call (505) 277-4706 to reserve a table.
