University of New Mexico student Deemah Al-Omari was recently awarded SR Education Group’s $5,000 undergraduate scholarship.
Al-Omari was one of 13 students selected this quarter by SR Education Group to receive a total of $65,000 in scholarships. There are a series of four different scholarships available including community college scholarship, military scholarship, undergraduate scholarship and graduate scholarship.
The company is a leading education research publisher and began the quarterly scholarship program to further its mission of making college affordable and attainable for every student.
Of the many applicants, students gave persuasive statements about their academic goals, career aspirations and the reasons behind their financial need.
Al-Omari hopes to go into the medical field and become a neurosurgeon. Her goal is to provide treatments and educate people about caring for elderly and sick patients.
SR Education Group awards scholarships on a quarterly basis throughout the year, Applications for the next round for all four scholarship categories are currently being accepted; selections will be finalized after the deadline of Sept. 29.
